Stay in Florence: Hotel Regency

During my birthday trip to the Italian Coast last month, which included Cinque Terre and Amalfi Coast, I just had to squeeze in a day for Florence, as I couldn’t stop thinking about the wonderful memories and the beautiful sunset I witnessed 10 years ago on my first visit.

For my one day trip, I chose to stay at Hotel Regency, a member of the ‘Small Luxury Hotels‘ brand. The hotel is only a short walk away from the hustle and bustle of the city center — which I personally prefer, as it gives me the opportunity to enjoy the serenity, and fully experience the city just like the locals do.

After arriving very late in the evening, I woke up bright and early to start my day with some yummy breakfast. Although I missed eggs (hard to find in Italian breakfast scenes), I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast the Italian way, with a cup of delicious cappuccino, of course.

Originally a Florentine villa, Hotel Regency had so much history in each and every corner. Elegant and sophisticated, the space was designed in a classic Florentine style to recreate the atmosphere of the Regency period.

Although my stay at Hotel Regency was a short one, I had such a pleasant time exploring the gorgeous space with all the attention to details, including hand-painted windows, Renaissance paintings, and carefully selected furniture pieces that provided an aura of a timeless Florentine villa.
