Stay in Paris: Grand Hotel du Palais Royal

Ice Cream Party

Palais Royal is one of my very favorite places in Paris, and one that I always seem to find myself re-visiting, whether for a moment of calm, leisurely stroll, or simply just to admire Daniel Buren’s stunning work of art in the courtyard.

Nestled up against Palais Royal is the Grand Hotel du Palais Royal, with beautiful heritage architecture and building façade, where I stumbled upon a few years ago, and have been dreaming about it ever since. During my recent trip to Paris, I was so happy to finally get a chance to stay at the lovely hotel, and I would like to tell you more about it and my pleasant experience.

Housed in an 18th century building listed as a historical monument,
Grand Hotel du Palais Royal is in the perfect location, just a walking distance away from all the city’s landmarks including the Louvre, Opéra, Centre Pompidou and the SaintHonoré shopping district.

We checked into our Suite Palais-Royal, a two-story Suite featuring a king sized bed, living area, bright marble bathroom, and a balcony with views of the incredible Parisian landmarks… Eiffel on the left, Montmartre on the right. What more can you ask for?

For all you marble lovers out there… Myself included

It’s not everyday you get to look out your window and witness the Iron Lady in all her glory…

From the oh-so-Parisian bread basket, fresh fruit juices, to fluffy egg dishes, our in-room breakfast was nothing short of amazing.

What better way to kick start your day than on your private balcony overlooking the gorgeous city?

In and around the Lulli restaurant and the lobby area, the ages come together naturally, with pieces commissioned from the Louvre and carefully thought-out details by the legendary architect Pierre Yves Rochon.

and my favorite part? This giant trunk located at the foot of the majestic staircase, which happens to be an actual luggage room.

The fitness room, the Hammam (Turkish steam room), and Tearoom are available downstairs of the hotel.

Having the Palais Royal all to myself in the early mornings was one of the perks of staying just a few steps away from it, right at the lovely Grand Hotel du Palais Royal
